About the Role

Belmond is recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller to work at multiple locations in Italy. The role may require temporary relocation within the Southern Europe region, including Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee the activities of the Accounting department to ensure efficiency and performance.
• Represent the Financial Controller in their absence.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Supervise accounting staff, including income audit and accountants.
• Implement policies, internal controls, and liaise with auditors.
• Coordinate month-end closing, prepare journal entries, and analyze financial statements.
• Support financial reporting to corporate headquarters.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Monitor internal controls and develop operating procedures.
• Reconcile balance sheets.
• Delegate tasks to junior staff.
• Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
• Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks.
