About the role

The Assistant Director of People & Culture works closely alongside the Senior Director of People & Culture and oversees the day-to-day running of the People & Culture function.

This role has Human Resource generalist knowledge and is well versed in the areas of benefits, recruitment and retention strategies, wage and salary administration, labor and employee relations, learning and development, and local diversity initiatives.

The ideal candidate:

  • holds a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager or above, preferably with Four Seasons or another luxury Hospitality brand
  • brings a solid experience in Human Resources Leadership and Strategy, Employee Relations and Engagement and Talent Acquisition
  • has strong working knowledge of Italian labor law, Workday HRIS and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • is fluent in English and Italian, both verbal and written.

Key knowledge & behavior required in the function:

  • BUSINESS ALLY: Business and internal customer orientation; forecasting, budgeting, need analysis and planning. Solid Business acumen, understands business drives and has business and HR credibility.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING: Practical, objective and gets to the root cause of an issue and cause action to improve or find resolution.
  • TALENT MANAGEMENT: Holistic approach to talent management (talent acquisition, learning and development, retention, and partners in leadership) to ensure that all policies and procedures work towards a more productive and efficient property. Proficiency in planning cross-team facilitation; organizational development and change leadership.
  • INNOVATE: Analyse and brainstorm to create developmental or change initiatives for guests and employees. Current on trends in Human Resources Management and Leadership
  • SUCCESSION & REPLACEMENT PLANNING: Monitors all employees to identify high potential candidates for succession planning through performance appraisals, guest comments, recognition programs and meetings with department and divisional heads.
  • SYNERGY: Creates synergies between different work groups and individuals to ensure a positive outcome; works with others to ensure teamwork and collaboration.
  • COMMUNICATION: Interpersonal sensitivity and culture ambassador. Effective and strong communicator (written and oral), influencing and negotiation skills. Monitors and facilitates communications, disseminates necessary information to appropriate parties, develops properties’ image within local community.
  • SERVICE EXCELLENCE: Promotes service and product quality, which is recognized as excellent, innovative, intuitive and customer driven.
  • VISION: Defines and communicates Human Resources vision and roles consistent with helping the organization to implement strategies which attain overall goals and objectives.
  • COMPLIANCE: Applies an understanding of key legal precedents, policies, and practices to protect the interests of the organization and individual employees; ensures Four Seasons standards are adhered to and that the Human Resources function is managed effectively.
  • COACH: Cultivates coaching relationships; encourages continuous learning; identifies and nurtures talents in others on a one-on-one basis; committed to others development.
  • PLANNING: Develops customized, effective and competitive compensation and benefit programs that meet the needs of employees and the business.
