Area Manager, Italy

The Area Manager is responsible for driving sales and developing the wholesale distribution network for our furniture products in Italy. This role involves identifying and onboarding new furniture retailers, nurturing existing relationships, achieving sales targets, and representing the company's brand and product portfolio. A deep understanding of the furniture market and a passion for design are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Business Development:
    1. Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve or exceed sales targets within the area.
    2. Identify and prospect potential furniture retailers, interior designers, and distributors to expand the wholesale network.
    3. Onboard new accounts, ensuring smooth integration and product training.
    4. Manage and support existing customer relationships, focusing on building long-term partnerships and maximizing sales.
    5. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
    6. Forecast sales and provide regular reports on performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.
    7. Negotiate pricing and contracts with wholesale partners.
  2. Relationship Management:
    1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at furniture retailers, design studios, and distributor partners.
    2. Provide excellent customer service and support to wholesale accounts.
    3. Represent the company at industry trade shows, furniture fairs, and networking events.
  3. Product Knowledge & Presentation:
    1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's furniture product portfolio, including materials, finishes, and design styles.
    2. Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential and existing customers.
    3. Stay up-to-date on new product launches and market trends in the furniture industry.
  4. Market Analysis & Reporting:
    1. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences within the assigned area.
    2. Gather market intelligence and provide feedback to the sales and product development teams.
    3. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the wholesale furniture industry or a related field (e.g., interior design, home furnishings).
  2. Strong understanding of the Italian furniture market, distribution channels, and retail landscape.
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  4. Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
  5. Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  6. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  7. Passion for furniture and design.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  9. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
