Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Monfalcone, Italy, is seeking an APX Principal, Project Sourcing & Procurement to manage equipment procurement for a manufacturing site and to support AP1000 New Plant Projects within the APX Supply Chain portfolio.

You will negotiate pricing, delivery terms and conditions with suppliers, oversee PO administration, and lead supplier relationship reviews while coordinating with project teams to maintain manufacturing schedules under nuclear regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and Supply Chain experience.
• 10+ years of procurement experience on complex projects; 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience with APX Supply Chain Products; travel up to 15% within EMEA.
• Fluent in Italian and English (C1).

About the role:

As Senior Buyer & Procurement Project Specialistyou will manage the successful procurement of items and complex equipment for specific manufacturing locations. You will deal with a variety of commodities, primarily mechanical, sush as machined components, fabricated parts, mechanical assemblies, and related equipment that supports both manufacturing and project execution activities.

You will negotiate pricing, delivery, terms and conditions to satisfy financial, quality and delivery requirements with suppliers. You will process and approve purchase orders within limits of authority. You will oversee procurement activities during the pre-purchase order (PO), PO placement, PO administration and execution with the support of Project Management personnel.

You will report to the APX Manager, Project Sourcing & Procurement and be located in Monfalcone (IT). This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days on-site per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate, place and administer purchase orders with suppliers worldwide.
• You will lead decision-making, strategy implementation for procurement of components and equipment.
• Lead regular supplier relationship management reviews with necessary and strategic suppliers, engaging teams and senior leadership.
• Develop working relationships with suppliers and internal partners to maintain sources of supply. Identify standard engineering, quality and administrative issues, assisting with resolution to fulfill internal and external procurement requirements.
• Identify and obtain cost improvements of purchased materials and services.
• You will expedite material deliveries to ensure you maintain manufacturing schedules supportin the dedicated Team
• Interface between project teams including project management and engineering and the supply chain organization
• Maintain a comprehensive commodity strategy to improve Total Cost of Ownership, while ensuring supply continuity through identification and mitigation of current and emerging risks and opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferibly in Engineering or in Business & Economics
• 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement activities and supplier management within international industries with complex engineering or construction projects
• In-depth manufacturing, financial, and economic skills
• In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain processes and products in a matrix organization
• Ability to travel up to 15% within EMEA
• Fluent in Italian and C1 proficiency in English

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be €51,800 to €64,900 per year.
