Job Description:

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Application Engineer / Trainer for 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division at 3M Italy, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact :

1. Being the technical partner for the 3M sales force and the Marketing team in the field of automotive repair, providing training to our internal teams and clients through product demonstrations at our Customer Technical Center in Carpiano or elsewhere in Italy.
2. Assisting our sales force in identifying and converting opportunities.
3. Working closely with our clients, mainly body shop groups, to support them in the process of selecting, evaluating, and implementing existing solutions and new products, following process mapping.
4. Developing and maintaining a professional network representative of the market.
5. Supporting the team during main professional exhibitions and fairs.
6. Collaborating regularly with other 3M subsidiaries to share experiences and best practices.
7. Being involved in evaluating prototypes provided by our Research and Development laboratories before their launch, to influence their design and launch: Your voice is important!

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

• Proven experience in the field of automotive repair, painting, industrial coatings, or painting equipment.
• Professional experience in technical sales support or training.
• Service and customer-oriented mindset.
• Hands-on skills, ability to conduct practical demonstrations, teaching skills.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications include:

• Initiative-taking, leadership, ability to engage and influence.
• Communication skills, team spirit, and collaborative approach.
• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Analytical skills, problem-solving ability, implementation of solutions, and generation of new ideas.
• Ability to work and collaborate in a remote environment.

Job specifics:

• Location: Mainly at the Customer Technical Center in Carpiano and in the field.
• Travel: Up to 30%-40%, mainly domestic, with occasional international involvement.
• Work from home: Possibility to be occasionally agreed upon with the manager.
• Working pattern: Full time.
