A leading semiconductor company in Catania is seeking an Application Engineer - Software to develop and maintain simulation software for Power Transistor and Power Module devices. The ideal candidate must have proficiency in programming languages and a fluent understanding of Power Electronics. This role includes significant collaboration with Marketing and Sales, ensuring effective design-in support for customers.

Job Description:

The candidate will contribute to defining and developing ST’s simulation software dedicated to Power Transistor and Power Module devices.

The main responsibilities include software development, from tool definition to implementation architecture, debugging, and validation of the simulation tool.

The candidate will develop systems and architectural expertise for various application topologies to define new software features and functionalities.

Additionally, they will support Marketing and Sales as a technical interface during customer design-in activities with dedicated simulations and benchmark comparisons against main competitors.

Finally, they will assist in maintaining and promoting the simulation software, including developing promotional materials and technical documentation.

Profile:

Required competencies include proficiency in major programming languages, bench characterization knowledge, system architecture awareness, fluent understanding of Power Electronics, experience with Orcad or similar software, and computational analysis tools.

Other skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing environments, discipline, results orientation, sense of urgency, initiative, knowledge sharing, teamwork, ability to work independently by retrieving relevant tools and information, and willingness to travel.
