We are looking for an Application Engineer for PCB Design in Milan, Italy.

Reports to: AE Director

Job Description: Role and Key Responsibilities

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for pre-sale and post-sale activities related to our Cadence PCB Solutions within the EDA (Electronic Design Automation) domain. Our tools are used for designing printed circuit boards for various electronic systems.

You will work closely with top-tier customers, supporting technical campaigns through creating and conducting technical presentations, product demonstrations, training, knowledge transfer, and service delivery.

You will recommend technical solutions based on Cadence PCB solutions and identify opportunities or risks associated with those proposals. You will collaborate with the sales team to strategize for new prospects and propose optimal technical solutions.

You will provide technical training or workshops and technical support to our European customers. Investigating customer issues and identifying workarounds will be part of your responsibilities. You will share customer feedback and suggestions with R&D and contribute to team projects.

Position Requirements: Experience & Education

• A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• Work experience of 1 to 2 years or recent graduates with internships.
• Knowledge in Schematic Entry and PCB Design is advantageous. Training on Cadence PCB software will be provided.
• A basic understanding of PCB tools within the PCB Design Conception Flows, with training on analyzing customer environments and evaluating solutions.
• Experience with electronic software for board design is desirable, with training on Allegro X PCB Designer, Allegro System Capture, InspectAR, ECAD MCAD Library Creator, and Sigrity technology for electronics simulation.
• Experience in PCB design and signal/power integrity at PCB level is a plus.
• Knowledge of TCL or other programming languages is a plus.
• Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and oral. English classes can be taken to improve skills.
• Ability to work in a multinational engineering environment, convincing and communicating effectively with internal teams and external customers.
• Willingness to travel for customer visits and internal training.
• Excellent team spirit.
