Role and Key Responsibilities

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for pre-sale and post-sale activities on our Cadence PCB Solutions, which are part of the EDA Electronic Design Automation domain. Our tools are used for designing printed circuit boards of various electronic systems.

You will work closely with top-tier customers, supporting technical campaigns for pre-sales by creating and delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, training, knowledge transfer, and service delivery.

You will recommend technical solutions based on Cadence PCB solutions and identify opportunities or risks associated with those proposals. You will collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for new prospects and propose optimal technical solutions.

You will provide technical training or workshops and support to our European customers. You will investigate customer issues, identify workarounds, and share feedback and suggestions with R&D. Additionally, you will contribute to team projects and initiatives.

Position requirements, Experience, Education

• A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• Work experience in the domain of 1 to 2 years or recent graduates with internship experience.
• Knowledge in Schematic Entry and PCB Design is advantageous. Training on Cadence PCB software will be provided, with ongoing support for mastering Cadence technology.
• A basic understanding of PCB tools within PCB Design Conception Flows, with training provided to analyze customer environments and evaluate solutions.
• Experience with electronic software for board design is desirable. Training will include Allegro X PCB Designer, Allegro System Capture, InspectAR, ECAD MCAD Library Creator, and Sigrity technology for electronics simulation (IR Drop, Coupling, Reflection, Return Path, Crosstalk).
• Experience in PCB design is a plus.
• Experience in signal and power integrity at the PCB level is a plus.
• Knowledge of TCL or other programming languages is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and oral. Language skills can be improved through courses.
• Ability to work in a multicultural engineering environment, communicate effectively, and persuade internal teams and external customers.
• Willingness to travel for customer visits and internal training sessions.
• Strong team spirit and collaborative skills.
