Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, seeks an Application Consultant to provide remote applications support and training for Leica instruments across Central Italy. The role involves up to 50% travel within Abruzzo and Central Italy, and offers a base salary of 45,000–60,000 EUR gross per year with a 20% bonus.

You will coordinate with Sales, Service, and Customer Care teams to ensure instrument uptime, support tenders, and deliver effective technical demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Hands-on experience supporting or training users on laboratory instruments.
• Experience delivering technical demonstrations or structured user training.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation with product codes and tender-related materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support for Leica Biosystems instruments and reagents, including on-site troubleshooting of application issues and first-line diagnosis of basic hardware and software failures.
• Plan and deliver customer training, instrument and reagent demonstrations, and workflow guidance for the assigned territory. Optimize reagent use, protocols, and system performance to maximize instrument uptime, customer retention, and reagent order intake.
• Support Customer Care and the Tender Office with technical documentation, tender responses, and product coding for solutions supplied in the assigned area.
• Partner with the local Sales, Service, Customer Care, and Applications teams to gather market intelligence, support commercial opportunities, protect installed base business, and contribute to sales growth and margin.

The Application Consultant is responsible to provide applications support and training of Leica Biosystems instruments to customers in their defined territory, ensuring Leica Biosystems products have maximum “uptime” through optimization of reagents and systems and therefore retain customers to generate reagent order intake.

This position reports to the SEM Preanalytics & Application Support Manager and is part of the Application Consultans team and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Deliver application support for Leica Biosystems instruments and reagents, including on-site troubleshooting of application issues and first‑line diagnosis of basic hardware and software failures
• Plan and deliver customer training, instrument and reagent demonstrations, and workflow guidance for the assigned territory. Optimize reagent use, protocols, and system performance to maximize instrument uptime, customer retention, and reagent order intake
• Support Customer Care and the Tender Office with technical documentation, tender responses, and product coding for solutions supplied in the assigned area

The essential requirements of the job include :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Biology, Biomedical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or another relevant scientific discipline
• Previous hands‑on experience supporting, operating, or training users on laboratory instruments, reagents, or diagnostic workflows
• Experience preparing and delivering technical product demonstrations or structured user training to customer groups
• Ability to prepare technical documentation and work with product codes, specifications, or tender‑related materials

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Availability to travel approximately 50% of working time within Abruzzo and, when required, other regions of Central Italy
• Valid driving licence and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

• Anatomical pathology or pathology laboratory workflows
• A multinational medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences organization

Base salary and level of employment

This role is classified under the applicable CCNL as CBA level 3, which defines minimum terms, job classification, and baseline progression frameworks. The expected gross annual salary range for this role is 45.000 – 60.000€, determined based on objective criteria such as experience, skills, and role‑related competencies.

Bonus / Incentive Pay

20% of annual base salary

This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay. This is the target earnings as 20% of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
