Analog Engineer

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Design Engineering, you will be responsible for the design, verification, and validation of power management ICs. Your responsibilities include the full design cycle, from product definition through IC validation.

Responsibilities

1. Perform transistor-level design of power management ICs
2. Define and quantify tradeoffs among IC architectures and conduct feasibility experiments
3. Participate in product definition with Marketing and Applications engineers
4. Oversee the work of mask layout staff
5. Write design specifications, verification, and validation plans for ICs
6. Develop test specifications and support Test Engineering
7. Execute lab validation and datasheet compliance testing
8. Support Application Engineering and Marketing

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Expertise in:
• BCD design: Low-voltage CMOS (1V - 5V), High-voltage DMOS (12V-100V)
• Analog building blocks: references, amplifiers, oscillators, LDOs
• Switch-mode power conversion topologies
• Familiarity with Cadence design tools
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Integrated FET switching regulators and PMICs
• Behavioral modeling of analog and mixed-signal circuits
• Feedback control systems
• Precision current sensing techniques
• Regulated or unregulated charge pump circuits
• High-precision, rail-to-rail op-amps
• Automated bench testing
• Use of tracking systems for development milestones, tasks, and bug resolution
• Experience working with customers, marketing, applications, test, and product engineers throughout the product lifecycle
• BSEE with 5+ years, MSEE with 3+ years, or PhD
