Amazon Shipping offers Amazon’s delivery capabilities as a product and service. Our first customers are sellers in the EU, using our delivery network for domestic shipments.

We are hiring a First Mile Manager for our Operations Team in Italy. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of translating Amazon Shipping’s long-term vision into strategic and tactical plans, requiring a hands-on approach, stakeholder management skills, and excellent communication abilities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing entrepreneurial business. You will help develop the mid- to long-term strategy for Amazon Shipping Operations, working on strategic projects, shaping IT and operations strategies, and engaging multiple stakeholders to build a customer-loved shipping service. Strong operational understanding, leadership, and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure high First Mile performance and reliability through strong relationships, clear escalation paths, and collaboration.
2. Monitor performance metrics, conduct reviews, and implement continuous improvements to exceed service standards while controlling costs.
3. Develop guidelines, optimize data-driven initiatives, and explore synergies to improve pickup services and pilot new solutions.
4. Drive technology development by coordinating with operational and tech teams, gathering feedback, and resolving issues without disrupting operations.
5. Shape inbound profiles at Sortation Centers considering constraints and capacities.
6. Manage local events and partner with EU event planners for major events like Prime Day and Peak seasons.
7. Provide frontline support, monitor KPIs, handle escalations, and collaborate with operations managers to resolve issues.
8. Analyze customer feedback, collaborate across teams, and prioritize customer satisfaction and retention.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, SQL).
• Knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience managing data and developing performance metrics.
• Fluency in Italian and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics, or related fields.
• Leadership experience in high-volume logistics or transportation environments.
• Expertise in network optimization and transportation management systems.
• Proven track record of operational excellence and innovative solutions.
• Strong strategic thinking and data analysis skills.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Leadership experience with cross-functional teams.
