Job summary

Argotec S.r.l. in Italy is seeking an Electronics Assembly Integration and Testing (AIT) Engineer to join its AIT Unit, contributing to space system development from fully integrated satellites to internal components.

You will design electrical harnesses, select connectors, analyze documentation, support harness manufacturing, draft test procedures, and validate cables in Clean Room while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Design of electrical harnesses, including schematics, layout diagrams and pin-to-pin lists.
• Selection of connectors, contacts, wires and parts based on requirements.
• Analysis of technical documentation and manufacturing specifications.
• Support to harness manufacturing and assembly.
• Drafting of technical documentation, including design files and test procedures.
• Testing and validation of cables and harnesses, including Clean Room activities.
• Interface with stakeholders for harness definition and manufacturing.
• Support QA/PA processes and non-conformances management.
• Harness routing definition per satellite mechanical design.
• Assist broader AIT activities (PCBs, test setups, small assemblies).
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Job description

To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for an Electronics Assembly Integration and Testing (AIT) Engineer who will be part of our AIT Unit, contributing to the development of space systems for future missions, from fully integrated satellites to their internal components. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in electronic assembly and integration, as well as familiarity with testing procedures and tools used in the space and defense sectors.

DUTIES

• Design of electrical harnesses, including schematics, layout diagrams and pin-to-pin lists
• Selection of connectors, contacts, wires and other parts based on electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements
• Analysis of technical documentation and manufacturing specifications
• Support to harness manufacturing and assembly
• Drafting of technical documentation, including design files, assembly procedures, and test procedures and reports
• Testing and validation of cables and harnesses, including activities in Clean Room
• Directly interface with internal and external stakeholders for harness definition and manufacturing
• Support with QA/PA processes definition and non-conformances management
• Harness routing definition in accordance with satellite’s mechanical design
• Support to broader AIT activities (PCBs debug, test setups, small assemblies) when needed
• Ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and procedures

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Technical High School Diploma will also be considered; At least 3 years of experience in a similar role; Good written and oral communication skills in English; Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; Proactive attitude, attention to detail and willingness to continuously learn; Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Proven ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams; Basic knowledge of harness design fundamentals (materials, design rules, etc.); Experience in soldering through-hole and SMD parts and cables; Good familiarity with laboratory instruments (multimeter, power supply, etc.) and tools (crimp pliers, wire strippers, wire cutters, etc.). Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities with precision; High level of reliability, proactivity and accountability; Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-pace environment; Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, working under tight deadlines.

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

Previous experience in the aerospace or defense industry will be considered a plus; Familiarity with CAD tools for electronics or harness design (Altium preferred) and mechanical design (Solidworks preferred); Experience in ESD controlled environments; Knowledge of ECSS and IPC standards.

SALARY RANGE

30.000 - 35.000 EUR
