UNDP in Italy is seeking an AI Hub Campaign Specialist to shape narratives and drive engagement for sustainable development AI programs. You will co-design AI initiatives, mobilize stakeholders, and establish the AI Hub as an orchestrator of partnerships with international partners.

You will collaborate with G7 nations and African partners to amplify impact, lead media and community engagement pilots, and ensure effective governance of AI-driven programs.

The Digital, AI, and Innovation Hub within UNDP is focused on harnessing digital technologies and AI for development. This role is part of the AI Hub for Sustainable Development, which aims to nurture innovative AI solutions and build an ecosystem for growth, particularly in Africa, aligning with the African Union's AI Strategy.

Job purpose

The AI Hub Campaign Specialist will be instrumental in shaping the narrative and driving engagement for the AI Hub for Sustainable Development. This role involves co-designing AI programs, leading targeted campaigns to mobilize stakeholders, and establishing the AI Hub as a key systems orchestrator. The Specialist will collaborate with international partners, including G7 nations and African countries, to amplify the impact of AI initiatives. The purpose is to foster innovative AI solutions for development, build robust AI foundations, and ensure the benefits of AI are accessible, particularly in Africa, by connecting innovators and fostering an ecosystem for prosperity.

Responsibilities

The AI Hub Campaign Specialist is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and monitoring of the AI Hub's knowledge and insights strategy, generating actionable insights to inform program delivery. This includes developing and executing campaign strategies in partnership with G7, African, and national authorities. The role involves developing and executing AI Hub program campaigns, setting clear objectives, conducting stakeholder analysis, and managing team operations. Additionally, the Specialist will design and pilot new approaches for media and community engagement, steer research for thought leadership, and represent UNDP in global AI forums. Key duties include managing partnership expectations, ensuring visibility, and contributing to go-to-market strategies for AI Hub programs and partnerships.

Education

An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Design, Business Administration, Engineering, IT Management, Education, or a related technical field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor's) with two additional years of qualifying experience will be considered.

Work experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience (with a Master's degree) or 7 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required, specifically in AI, digital transformation, or sustainable development. Experience in leading multi-stakeholder campaigns, managing partner visibility, and designing impactful initiatives with the private sector is essential.
