European Tech Recruit seeks an Agentic AI Expert to join an innovative R&D team focusing on Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Design (MBD) tools. The role blends AI, software engineering and MBE, aiming to infuse agentic AI into engineering workflows and simulations.

You will work as a System Engineer evolving proprietary MBD platforms with AI-assisted simulation, code generation and automated testing, within a collaborative team across digital power and EV domains.

Competenze

• MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• PhD experience highly desirable.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals required.
• Proven hands-on experience building agentic AI solutions.
• Experience taking AI concepts from experiments to real products.
• Fluency in English and ability to work in an international environment.

Agentic AI Expert - Model-Based Engineering

Contract: Full-time leased worker

Working Pattern: Fully onsite

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Agentic AI Expert to join an innovative R&D team developing next-generation Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Design (MBD) tools.

The role sits at the intersection of AI, software engineering and model-based engineering, with a strong focus on integrating the latest agentic AI technologies into existing engineering tools.

You will work as a System Engineer, helping evolve proprietary MBD platforms through AI-assisted simulation, code generation, diagram generation and automated testing.

You will join a highly collaborative team of engineers, researchers and PhDs working on advanced technology projects across digital power, electric vehicles and next-generation engineering solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Drive the evolution of proprietary MBD tools towards AI-assisted engineering
• Integrate agentic AI technologies into existing engineering products
• Develop AI-powered approaches for simulation, code and test generation
• Design and implement efficient multi-agent AI architectures
• Build and integrate RAG, orchestration and tool-calling capabilities
• Work with AI coding agents and modern LLM development frameworks
• Develop solutions using OpenAI APIs, MCP servers and tool calling
• Analyse and optimise complex distributed LLM pipelines
• Improve latency, scalability and token efficiency
• Support large-scale and efficient simulation workflows
• Contribute to automated regression testing and validation
• Work across AI, software and model-based engineering disciplines
• Collaborate with researchers and engineering teams to turn emerging AI technologies into practical product capabilities

The key focus is on bringing agentic AI into engineering workflows and creating tools that can intelligently assist with modelling, simulation, coding and testing.

Technical Experience

We are looking for strong hands-on experience across AI/LLM engineering and software development, particularly:

• Excellent Python and Java programming skills
• AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Docling, PyTorch or similar
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents, such as Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex or equivalent
• OpenAI API
• MCP servers
• Tool calling and function calling
• Agentic AI patterns and architectures
• Multi-agent systems
• RAG and AI orchestration
• Integration of AI capabilities into existing software products
• Distributed AI systems
• Token and latency optimisation
• Software testing and particularly regression testing
• Model-Based Engineering concepts such as UML, Simulink and Stateflow

Ideally, you will have:

• M.Sc. in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
• PhD experience is highly desirable
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Proven hands-on experience building agentic AI solutions
• Experience taking AI concepts beyond experimentation and integrating them into real products
• Strong understanding of LLM architecture, orchestration and tool use
• Ability to analyse and optimise complex AI systems
• A product-oriented and practical mindset
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently
• Fluency in English
• Comfortable working within an international, multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel across Europe and China

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

• Model quantisation, distillation or fine-tuning
• C++
• RTOS or control/vehicle software development
• Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF)
• MLOps
• CI/CD frameworks
• Automotive or embedded software development
• Advanced model-based engineering environments
