Job summary

Avio Aero in Pomigliano d'Arco, Italy, seeks an Overinspection Leader to own product quality and ensure customer requirements are met. You will plan day-to-day activities, review performance, and adapt procedures within established standards.

You will lead QA/QC, manage staffing, develop skills, translate strategies into action, and drive improvements across manufacturing, while collaborating with internal teams and customers to prevent escapes and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent with aerospace experience.
• Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Special Processes or Quality Engineering.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to communicate with customers and international stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
• Work Visa, in accordance with local regulations, is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, including non-conformance management and KPI tracking.
• Set staffing levels and ensure production needs are covered through resource planning.
• Develop the team’s skills through training, coaching and on-the-job support.
• Translate company policies into practical, results-oriented actions using technical expertise.
• Apply best practices in control and investigation; compare methods against standards and customer expectations.
• Analyze complex manufacturing issues across varied technologies and production cycles; develop solutions.
• Coach and develop less-experienced inspectors to increase autonomy and effectiveness.
• Coordinate the overinspection process using the Standard Work tools for consistency and traceability.
• Promote Root Cause Analysis and Action Plans to prevent recurrence and improve customer outcomes.
• Build improvement strategies using internal and customer data to reduce escapes and complaints.
