Do you have compelling technology manufacturing skills?

Would you like to create comprehensive end-to-end manufacturing solutions?

Join our Additive Manufacturing Solutions team

We provide our business units with the full advantage of additive manufacturing design services, aiming performance, reliability improvement, and minimizing operating risks. With six out of seven additive manufacturing modalities and post-processing equipment housed at Baker Hughes, we deliver turn-key solutions from material and process qualification to released production under all the industry regulations and requirements.

Be part of a team that makes a difference to our business
You will execute the design, analysis, testing, and integration required for assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to BH’s business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. In this role, you will lead the creation, evaluation, and implementation of comprehensive end-to-end manufacturing solutions for key design features in BH products. You ensure that these solutions meet critical performance criteria—including product quality, cost-efficiency, yield, capacity, schedule, and environmental impact—while driving innovation in additive manufacturing processes.

As a crucial technical leader, you will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to project teams, supporting the professional development of junior engineers. Your responsibilities also include developing test plans, analyzing test data, drawing meaningful conclusions, and documenting technical information in accordance with engineering policies and procedures. Timely communication on significant issues or developments is essential, as is your active participation in technical and program reviews and cross-functional team collaborations to achieve strategic business goals.

As an Additive Technology Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and improvement of additive manufacturing processes for both new and existing components, ensuring solutions are scalable and meet BH’s design, quality, and operational standards.
  • Providing technical leadership and coaching to personnel supporting assigned projects, fostering the technical growth and competencies of junior engineers.
  • Developing comprehensive test plans, analyzing test data, drawing conclusions, and documenting technical data generated from projects in line with BH’s engineering policies and procedures.
  • Working with cross-functional teams, Global Supply Managers, and BH suppliers to align manufacturing development strategies with clear goals, schedules, and expectations. Ensuring timely and effective communication of progress, issues, and technical findings.
  • Identifying and implementing appropriate fabrication equipment and processes to meet design and operational requirements.
  • Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and support long-term business objectives.
  • Contributing to broader organizational initiatives and addressing generic issues, leveraging cross-functional learnings and building on your knowledge of critical stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that our additive manufacturing solutions not only meet the immediate design and production requirements but also support the long-term strategic objectives of BH.

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a master's in mechanical engineering (or related field).
  • Have good experience with CAD and CAM tools for build preparation in support of metal 3D printed component production.
  • Have good experience in mechanical product development, manufacturing engineering, tooling engineering, high-precision fabrication, or related roles.
  • Have some experience with topology optimization tools applied to metal components.
  • Show proficiency in applying hands-on engineering methods and problem-solving techniques.
  • Have expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Have experience with post-processing techniques, including milling, tumble finishing, heat treatment, and workshop operations.
  • Have very good communication skills, able to provide timely updates and lead discussions on process development and technical challenges.
