Company Description

SICIM is a Construction Company established in 1962, offering services related to the installation of pipelines and ancillary facilities for the transmission and distribution of oil, gas, and water on an international basis.

Position

The Project Environmental Officer manages the implementation of the Environmental Management System (SGA) on-site, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and public authority provisions related to:

• Protection of water, soil, and subsoil from pollution
• Management of water resources and discharge regulations
• Protection from atmospheric pollution and waste management, and more generally, environmental protection

The person will be responsible for:

1. Drafting and submitting required authorization requests, and fulfilling declarations, reports, communications, and information obligations under environmental regulations
2. Ensuring compliance with the conditions of authorization documents
3. Ensuring that water discharges into soil and subsoil are authorized, informing supervisors about the prescribed measures and prohibitions
4. Ensuring all atmospheric emissions are authorized and comply with applicable standards, preventing unauthorized combustion activities and emission of fumes, gases, vapors, or substances into the atmosphere
5. Proper management of waste generated from project activities, especially from the construction site, including proper characterization, traceability, storage, record keeping, and disposal authorizations
6. Managing materials classified as excavated soil and rocks, complying with legal provisions and authority directives, and ensuring proper exclusion from waste regime when applicable
7. Applying company procedures related to SGA at workplaces, updating them as necessary for specific operations
8. Training personnel on environmental protection measures and procedures, ensuring their availability and adequacy

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management
• Minimum 5 years of experience in temporary construction sites
• Experience in pipeline construction sites
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or environmental management in an Italian construction site
• Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 14001
• Preferably, a degree in related fields
