As an integral part of the European Finance Team, the Accounts Payable Controller for Italy plays a key role in the Purchase to Pay process by providing efficient service handling all aspects of Accounts Payable. The role involves ensuring all invoices and expenses are processed and paid on time, with accurate data recording and query resolution within set deadlines.

This position is crucial for effective cash management within EMEA and supports the local Southern Europe Finance team on related accounting tasks.

Position Details

• Part-Time position - approximately 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient, high-volume, multi-currency invoice processing and related accounting, including:
• Invoices are correctly addressed and authorized
• Purchase orders are matched to invoices and posted accurately
• Invoices and payments comply with Italian regulations, under Finance Manager guidance
• Reconcile supplier statements with the purchase ledger monthly and maintain ledger accuracy
• Provide data for month-end accruals and maintain relevant balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain daily cashbook files for accurate cash reconciliations and reporting
• Ensure vendors are correctly set up within the ERP system per country requirements
• Resolve payment and invoice queries from internal departments and external suppliers
• Support statutory audit processes
• Assist internal stakeholders with cost reporting as needed

Qualifications

• Experience in Italian Accounts Payable
• Proficiency with ERP and online banking systems
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Flexible, adaptable, team-oriented, and proactive
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian
• Strong attention to detail
• AAT or similar accounting qualification
• Understanding of VAT regulations across EMEA
• Experience with JDE system
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
