On behalf of our client, a specialist currency solutions company, GRS are currently seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer for their team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be an energetic accounting professional, fluent in Greek and English. If you have the necessary skills and experience, we look forward to receiving your CV for this Nicosia-based role.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Process payments and documents such as invoices, journal vouchers, employee reimbursements, and statements.
  2. Post, update, and retrieve accounting data from automated systems.
  3. Post financial data to appropriate accounts in the accounting system.
  4. Perform end-of-day procedures.
  5. Keep VAT records and prepare quarterly VAT reports.
  6. Prepare bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
  7. Prepare required monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports for regulators.
  8. File and archive documents related to the accounting function.
  9. Liaise with external auditors and other external advisors.
  10. Prepare and update expense schedules and review them against the company's budget.
  11. Perform related work as assigned.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Holder of a degree in accounting or a related subject.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with Payment Institutions, EMIs, or Investment firms is a plus.
  • Experience with Sage software is an advantage.
  • Fluent in Greek and English languages.
