The ideal candidate must have a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture, at least 5 years of experience in the vegetable seed industry, and a proven track record in sales. KWS Vegetable Italy is looking for an exceptional Account Manager (m / f / d) , focusing on Spinach and Swiss Chard. This role is designed to drive our sales and market strategy, aligning with the company's overall objectives to ensure sustained growth and profitability in the global vegetables sector. The candidate will be part of the Customer Team for baby spinach and chard in Europe. The ideal candidate will possess strategic insight, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the horticulture sector, particularly in vegetable seeds.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Battipaglia region, Italy.

Your responsibilities include :

  • Account Management : Implement and contribute to the crop account management strategy, focusing on fresh baby spinach and chard in Italy.
  • Market Development : Develop KWS vegetables' market position and share with key accounts, supporting commercial sales activities.
  • Partnership Building : Build trusted partnerships with key accounts, regional dealers, growers, packers, and retailers.
  • Market Monitoring : Monitor market developments and report data on acreage, seed prices, competitive activity, and trends.
  • Product Knowledge : Understand the product range and production cycles of fresh market spinach and Swiss chard, and support trial plans.
  • Network Building : Establish a network within the fresh market baby spinach and chard supply chain.
  • Account Plans : Develop and implement account plans for key accounts, focusing on the 4 P’s (Product, Price, Place, Promotion).
  • Product Launches : Execute new product launch plans and evaluate product performance.
  • Sales Forecasting : Maintain reliable sales forecasts and manage outstanding accounts.
  • Collaboration : Work with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Finance to support various initiatives.
  • Reporting : Report to the Italian Sales Manager and the European Customer Team Lead.

Your profile includes :

  • A minimum of a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture
  • At least 5 years of experience in the vegetable (seed) industry
  • Residence in the Battipaglia area, within 1 hour driving distance
  • Green fingers, understanding customer needs and business dynamics
  • Proven experience in sales and / or production within agriculture, achieving results
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 70%)
  • Experience with Sales Force, ABS, and Power BI is advantageous
