Who You’ll Become

The Account Executive's primary responsibilities include prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing new business with both existing and new customers. The Account Executive empowers our customers to achieve their full potential by understanding their strategy, business goals, and desired outcomes, thereby driving cloud revenue growth through dedicated sales efforts to help solve their business challenges by demonstrating value through our solutions.

What You’ll Do

As an Account Executive within the SAP Academy for Customer Success, your responsibilities will include:

  • Successfully completing a 10-month learn-apply program, including classroom and field phases with your sales team, which supports your role and is a critical customer-facing function within our Customer Success Board Area.
  • Immersing yourself in experiential learning focusing on digital transformation, global intelligence, human skills, business and technology knowledge, solution/industry expertise, and strategy/tools/processes.
  • Learning how to drive value across the customer lifecycle through solution adoption and renewals that foster account expansion.
  • Receiving onboarding in your local market with on-the-job training and mentoring by a Senior Account Executive. You will work both behind the scenes and directly with customers.

The program will enhance your knowledge of SAP and the Customer Success area, providing professional experience to prepare you for serving our customers. We offer full-time employment from day one with practical learning applications. Upon successful completion, you will transition into a direct customer-facing sales role in your market, continuing to receive mentoring and coaching to support your growth.

Sales roles in scope include: Account Executive (AE), Solution Sales Executive (SSE).

SSE focus areas

SAP Finance & Spend Management (F&S) – Knowledge in areas such as accounting, procurement, and supplier management, focusing on increasing visibility, reducing costs, and improving efficiency.

SAP SuccessFactors (Human Capital Management - HCM) – Knowledge in core HR, payroll, talent management, employee experience, HR analytics, workforce planning, and sales performance management.

SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) – Knowledge in supply chain, asset management, manufacturing, logistics, or product and project lifecycle management.

SAP Customer Experience (CX) – Knowledge of e-commerce sales, customer service, and marketing processes.

SAP Business Transformation Management (BTM) – Knowledge in business process management and automation applications.

SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) & SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) – Knowledge in database and data management, analytics, application development, integration, and AI technologies. Understanding of integration, application, data, infrastructure, and security domains.

What You Bring

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in a quota-carrying sales environment in a technology company or a role with significant exposure to business processes.
  • Experience generating opportunities, qualifying leads, and managing sales pipelines across a territory, with a proven track record of building customer relationships and articulating value propositions.
  • A cooperative and productive approach to working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • A strong ability to quickly learn new concepts, adapt to changing environments, and apply knowledge to deliver results.
  • An understanding of AI fundamentals, uses, and ethics, to identify business problems solvable with AI.
  • A resilient mindset, embracing challenges with optimism and striving for growth and success.
  • Strong business acumen, including knowledge of business processes and industries.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian to effectively engage with our global and local network.

    SAP’s employees across regions are enabled to work in a hybrid model, typically three days a week in the office or on-site with customers or partners, according to local guidelines.

    We plan a practical, immersive component, likely involving four weeks spread over two trips to San Ramon, California, offering hands-on learning and networking. The final decision on this component will be confirmed by Q1 2026, with sufficient notice for preparations.

    During critical phases, full engagement is required, and vacation may be restricted.
