As 1st Assistant, you will join the Department VECOP, in the business line Asset Based Services, conducting the following activities:

• Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with Project specification, in order to ensure efficient performance and respecting HSE and Quality procedures and practices.
• Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with regard to interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board.
• Supervise the team of foremen and supervisors, with regard to the various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work, in order to comply with the quality and safety standard.
• Coordinate the construction activities during the shift and optimise all production phases.
• Ensure that the Offshore Construction Manager is kept fully informed of potential problems and construction status.
• Liaise with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer in order to ensure preventive maintenance and construction activities.
• Liaise with subcontractors' supervisors to optimize production.
• Solve matters related to coordination, priority and interface between the different disciplines in order to meet the scopes of the project.
• Ensure that the Permit-to-Work system for construction crew is adhered to and ensures that the daily Tool Box Talks and JSA, if required, are carried out according to the procedures.
• Motivate all construction crew/subcontractors with regards to health, safety and environment awareness.
• Ensure the compliance with the standards dictated by Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures, in order to perform the activities in a safe manner.
• Report incidents and near-miss events.

QUALIFICATION: Preferably with technical High School Diploma or civil, mechanical, electrical or naval engineering background.

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: English B1.

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: Permanent contract.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6 or 7 years of prior experience in the oil & gas business. 4 years of experience in the role of 1st assistant or similar Supervisor Role.
