ROLE

The Climate Risk Analyst will contribute to ongoing local, European, and international research projects in the fields of climate adaptation, resilience, risk assessment, and nature-based solutions / approaches.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Hydrology, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Oceanography, Geography, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field
  • Background and / or experience in one or more of the following areas : Risk Assessment, Hydrologic / Hydrodynamic Modeling, Hazard Modelling, Large Climate Dataset Analysis, Nature-Based Solutions / Approaches, Remote Sensing, Extreme Value Statistics or related topics
  • Basic quantitative and programming skills or a willingness to learn
  • Interest in supporting stakeholder engagement activities
  • Willingness to contribute to proposal and scientific writing
  • Ability to work on diverse and interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel and participate in online and remote events.
  • Proficiency in English (working language at CMCC / RAAS).

  • DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
  • The Climate Risk ANalyst will be based in Venice CMCC office.
  • Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.
  • Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
  • Flexible working time as per internal policies.
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed.
  • PROTECTED CATEGORY

    Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68 / 99) will constitute a preferential condition.
