CMCC Position cod. 12681
Post Doc/ Junior Scientist

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Are you ready to join a dynamic team where your proactiveness and management prowess can translate directly into tangible outcomes in the research field?
CMCC GOCO Division, located in Lecce, is looking for a new position of researcher with experience as numerical modeler, to support the research and the coastal modeling activities at the land sea interface.
This position is for a Numerical Modeller (i.e., Post Doc, or Junior Scientist for research career at CMCC) with good knowledge of costal physical processes, numerical models and programming skills.

The primary purpose for this position is to take on a pivotal role in implementing, testing and further developing hydrological modeling to better serve the connection between inland and sea waters by embedding the routing of surface ad subsurface terrestrial waterflow.
This work contributes to evaluate the relevance of a proper representation of the link between inland and marine domains and the interconnected multi-physics and multi-scales processes, and to increase the knowledge of extreme events in a changing climate.
A consolidated experience with hydrology-hydraulics models (e.g. MODFLOW,LISFLOOD, WRFHYDRO) and/or unstructured coastal ocean models (e.g. SHYFEM, SCHISM) is required.
