Un'istituzione accademica nella medicina veterinaria sta cercando un ricercatore a tempo pieno per attività di ricerca e insegnamento relativa alla chirurgia oncologica degli animali da compagnia. Il candidato selezionato sarà coinvolto nello sviluppo di tecniche chirurgiche innovative, con un accento sull'ottimizzazione dei processi e sull'insegnamento agli studenti universitari. Offer Description

The selected candidate will be involved in research and teaching activities in the field of companion animal surgery, on topics within the declaratory of the scientific-disciplinary sector MVET-05/A, as provided for the RTD position. The research activity will be focused on minimally invasive, emergency and oncologic surgical techniques, in relation to the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases of surgical interest. The activities will be carried out in an integrated medical-veterinary perspective according to the One Health approach, within articulation 1 (Oncology – Objective: development of multimodal imaging techniques) of subsection 5.1.3 “Biotechnologies”, and articulation 3 (Implementation of systems for diagnosis, therapy and follow-up of non-communicable and/or aging-related diseases – Objective: development of biobanks of tissues and biological fluids accompanied by clinical data from patients affected by NCDs) of the subsection 5.1.1. “General themes” of the “Health” section of the 2021–2027 PNR. In particular:
the proposed research will focus on the development and validation of innovative techniques in veterinary oncologic surgery, with particular emphasis on companion animals, targeting the treatment of clinically impactful malignant neoplasms. Research activities will include the study and optimization of minimally invasive, emergency, and oncologic surgical approaches, in relation to the diagnosis and treatment of oncologic conditions of surgical relevance.
High-precision surgical solutions will be developed, supported by advanced intraoperative multimodal imaging techniques — such as Near-Infrared Fluorescence Imaging (NIRF) — to enable guided tumor resection and minimize surgical errors.
These surgical techniques will be integrated with biotechnological tools, including intraoperative electrochemotherapy, aimed at improving prognosis and enabling personalized surgical planning.
Emphasis will be placed on the clinical application of innovative surgical procedures in small animals, within a framework of sustainability, translational potential, and technological innovation. Teaching may include lectures, tutorials, support in any other forms of student instruction, grading and evaluation of papers and evaluation of final exams, on the subjects and topics covered by the contract. Teaching for up to 120 hours is required, according to university regulations.
