RoleOverview
The MedicalOfficer (MO) will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centredclinical services across Suniti Solomon Centre’s healthcare facilities. Workingunder the supervision of the Chief/Senior Medical Officer, the MO will provideboth outpatient and inpatient medical care, assist in clinical coordination,and ensure adherence to the Foundation’s standards of excellence in servicedelivery, ethics, and compassion.
The role will alsoinvolve introducing consultant-led practices, extending clinic operating hours,co-ordinating regular clinical review meetings, and supporting inpatient carewithin the Foundation’s clinical wing, whilst ensuring that clinical practiceand patient care remain aligned with current and emerging industry standards.
KeyResponsibilities
- Conduct clinical consultations, physicalexaminations, diagnosis, and treatment following approved clinical protocols.
- Provide follow-up care and ensurecontinuity of treatment for chronic and acute conditions.
- Support the introduction and schedulingof consultant medical practices to expand the range of available specialities.
- Assist in extending clinic operatinghours to improve accessibility for patients and enhance service reach.
- Participate in regular clinical reviewmeetings to discuss patient management, treatment plans, and service qualityimprovements.
- Manage inpatient admissions and supportthe inpatient wing by providing clinical care, monitoring patient progress, andensuring multidisciplinary coordination.
- Supervise the implementation of clinicalprotocols, infection control measures, and patient safety practices.
- Ensure accurate documentation in patientrecords, registers, and electronic systems while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in planning and conducting healthcamps, outreach services, and teleconsultations to expand service delivery.
- Collaborate with partner hospitals,laboratories, and referral networks for specialised care and diagnosticsupport.
- Perform any other duties as assigned bythe Chief/Senior Medical Officer or management in line with the Foundation’sclinical and public health objectives.

Within60 Days
- Complete induction and familiarisation withSSC’s clinical protocols and service standards.
- Conduct a baseline review of patient flowand operational systems.
- Participate in at least one clinical reviewmeeting and contribute to recommendations for improvement.
- 100% completion of induction modules andclinical orientation checklist.
- Submission of baseline report withactionable recommendations approved by the Chief/Senior Medical Officer.
- Documented participation and at least oneimplemented recommendation from review discussions.
Within 180Days
- Demonstrate independent managementof outpatient consultations.
- Support in implementingextended operating hours and consultant sessions.
- Participate in at least twooutreach or health awareness initiatives.
- Ensure accurate maintenanceof records and compliance ≥95%.
- Minimum of 25 independently managedconsultations per week with ≥95% documentation accuracy.
- At least one new consultant-led sessionintroduced and extended clinic schedule operationalised.
- Active involvement in planning and deliveryof two initiatives with post-event reports submitted
- Monthly audit showing ≥95% compliance withdocumentation and reporting standards.
By End ofYear (12 Months)
- Contribute to the successful operation ofthe inpatient wing.
- Participate in quality audits anddemonstrate measurable improvements in service delivery.
- Contribute to staff mentoring and traininginitiatives.
- ≥85% overall satisfactionscore across patient surveys, with improvement in feedback trends over time.
- Demonstrated participationin at least 20 inpatient care episodes with positive review from theChief/Senior Medical Officer.
- At least one implementedquality improvement initiative leading to measurable improvement in clinicaloutcomes or workflow efficiency.
- Participation in at leasttwo internal training sessions or clinical case discussions per quarter.
Requirements
Qualifications& Skills
- MBBSdegree from a recognised institution; valid registration with the MedicalCouncil of India / State Medical Council.
- 4 years of post-internship clinical experience in outpatient or hospitalsettings.
- Experiencein general medicine, family practice, or primary care preferred.
- Proficiencyin English, Hindi and at least one South Indian language.
- Highstandards of ethics, empathy, and patient confidentiality.
- Dedicated and compassionate clinicianwith sound judgement and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonalskills with patients and colleagues.
- Organised, detail-oriented, andcommitted to maintaining clinical standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within amultidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to support outreach, weekendduties, and extended hours as needed.
- Culturally sensitive and able to adaptto diverse communities.
