Job summary

HLFPPT is seeking a field X-ray technician to support active TB case finding with chest imaging. You will travel across district blocks, position patients for optimal images, and ensure data entries in NIKSHAY are accurate.

Strong safety practices and teamwork with district healthcare staff are essential. Prior radiography training and familiarity with NTEP/WHO guidelines will help you succeed in this critical public health role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in radiography preferred for field X-ray work.
• Diploma in X-Ray Radiography is advantageous.
• Understanding of NTEP/WHO guidelines for TB imaging.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld X-rays for active case finding of TB, especially chest X-rays.
• Travel to all blocks of the district for X-Ray screening.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and image quality.
• Follow radiation safety protocols in radiographic procedures.
• Ensure NIKSHAY entries are completed for all scanned individuals
• Share AI reports with District Coordinators and Medical Officers
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
• Operate portable X-ray machines with attention to safety and accuracy
• Maintain clear communication with healthcare teams and patients
• Record and report data during field screenings

7. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Bachelors or Postgraduate degree, preferably with a diploma in X-Ray Radiography.

1. Skilled in operating portable X-ray machines, patient positioning, and capturing high-quality chest X-rays following NTEP/WHO guidelines.
2. Adherence to radiation safety protocols and use of protective measures to minimize exposure.
3. Basic understanding of TB.
4. Strong communication, empathy towards patients, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
