Job summary

Blackbaud is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps, Jira, and GitHub Administrator to mature our engineering work management and software delivery ecosystem. You will govern and secure ADO, Jira, and GitHub across teams, define standards, and drive operational excellence.

You’ll partner with cross-functional groups to guide tooling strategy, improve user experience, and ensure data hygiene, access control, and governance practices at scale.

Qualifications

• 2+ years administering Azure DevOps, Jira, and GitHub in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile frameworks.
• Experience designing workflows, permission models, project structures, and field configurations.
• Experience administering enterprise identity and access controls for GitHub (SAML SSO, SCIM, RBAC, audit logs).

Responsibilities

• Own the administration, configuration, and lifecycle management of Azure DevOps, Jira, and GitHub across enterprises.

Blackbaud is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps, Atlassian Jira & GitHub Administrator with deep, practical expertise in administering, configuring, securing, and governing enterprise-grade work management and source control platforms. This role plays a critical part in maturing our engineering work management and software delivery ecosystem, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure usage of Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, and GitHub across diverse technical and business teams. This role will help shape standards, drive operational excellence, and ensure data hygiene, access control, security, and governance practices that support engineering, product, and project delivery at scale. You’ll partner closely with cross‑functional groups to guide tooling strategy, optimize processes, and improve the day‑to‑day user experience across ADO, Jira, and GitHub.

What You’ll Do:

Platform Administration & Governance

Own the administration, configuration, and lifecycle management of Azure DevOps, Atlassian Jira, and GitHub, including enterprises, organizations, projects, repositories, teams, boards, workflows, permissions, integrations, and automations.

Maintain alignment with established Azure DevOps governance practices and data hygiene expectations, including support for work item hierarchy, backlog structures, and work tracking standards.

Administer GitHub Enterprise and organization settings, user and team access, repository lifecycle, licensing, authentication and identity integrations, branch protections and rulesets, audit capabilities, GitHub Apps, webhooks, and GitHub Actions policies using least‑privilege and secure‑by‑default practices.

Define and enforce usage standards, fields, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency and reliable reporting across teams.

Engineering & Delivery Support

Partner with product, engineering, and delivery leaders to optimize usage of work management tools in support of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and hybrid methodologies.

Provide expert guidance on backlog management, user story structures, acceptance criteria alignment, and traceability from ideas to deployments.

Ensure integrations between Azure DevOps, Jira, Git repos, pipelines, and adjacent systems remain secure, scalable, and well‑documented.

User Enablement & Training

Build and deliver training, onboarding materials, and documentation to improve team adoption and maturity of work management practices.

Support new groups onboarding into ADO and Jira, leveraging best practices and governance guidance established by Azure DevOps Governance teams.

Provide hands‑on troubleshooting assistance, coaching, and advisory support to users at all levels.

Automation, Reporting & Optimization

Develop dashboards, queries, filters, workflows, and automations to improve transparency and reduce manual work.

Partner with engineering leadership to ensure high‑quality reporting across backlog health, forecasting, velocity, and delivery insights.

Evaluate usage patterns across work management and source control platforms and propose enhancements, policy changes, or standardization opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, developer experience, security, and compliance.

Leverage AI‑assisted tools to accelerate delivery and improve quality and actively experiment with emerging capabilities as they evolve.

What you’ll bring:

• 2+ years administering Azure DevOps, Atlassian Jira, and GitHub in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile frameworks.
• Experience designing workflows, permission models, project structures, and field configurations.
• Experience administering enterprise identity and access controls for GitHub, including SAML single sign‑on, SCIM or equivalent user provisioning, team synchronization, role‑based access, token and application governance, audit logs, and least‑privilege permissions.
• Proficiency with ADO Boards, Repos, and Pipelines, plus GitHub organizations, repositories, teams, access models, pull requests, branch protections and rulesets, GitHub Actions, and integrations with Git‑based source control and CI/CD tooling.
• Ability to partner with engineering teams to ensure accurate work item hygiene, traceability, and progress reporting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across permissions, workflows, automation, and integrations.
• Experience creating documentation, onboarding content, and user training programs.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and engage with users at all organizational levels.
• Able to work flexible hours as required by business priorities.
• Ability to deliver work which meets all minimum standards of quality, security, and operability.
