Job summary

Blackbaud, a cloud software company, seeks a Sr. Security Engineer to strengthen and scale cloud security across platforms from its Hyderabad, India team.

You will design secure cloud solutions, drive security posture with modern tooling, and develop secure interfaces for scalable architectures. You will collaborate with engineering, IT, and data protection teams to elevate endpoint security and incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, platform, or security engineering.
• 4+ years with AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong understanding of IAM, zero trust principles, and secure cloud design patterns.

About the role: We’re looking for a curious, collaborative, and impact‑driven Sr. Security Engineer to help strengthen and scale our cloud security capabilities. In this role, you’ll unleash the potential of people and organizations by powering secure, resilient systems that enable social impact. As a cloud and endpoint subject matter expert, you’ll enhance our cloud security posture while partnering across teams to deliver solutions that are both secure and scalable, helping expand what’s possible for purpose‑driven organizations.

What you’ll do:

• Design and deliver secure cloud solutions that protect critical systems while enabling innovation across Blackbaud’s platforms
• Strengthen cloud security posture by building and maintaining infrastructure using modern security posture management tooling
• Develop secure integrations and application interfaces that support scalable, reliable architectures across cloud environments
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, IT, and data protection teams to elevate endpoint security and improve user experience
• Monitor systems, analyze logs, and investigate incidents to continuously improve threat detection and response capabilities
• Mentor and support fellow engineers, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and shared success

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, platform, or security engineering, including 4+ years with AWS and/or Azure
• Experience in cloud security architecture and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM/Bicep
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, including VPC/VNet, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, routing, and private connectivity
• Understanding of identity and access management, zero trust principles, and secure cloud design patterns
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, along with CI/CD automation, monitoring, and secrets management tools
