Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) seeks an experienced engineer for automotive wiring harness design and packaging. You will work on CATIA V5/3DX for electrical harness design, part modeling, and 2D drawings, coordinating with global stakeholders.

Minimum 2–4 years in automotive wiring harness projects, and strong knowledge of vehicle architecture and systems. The role requires collaboration, independent work, and a proactive, self-starting attitude.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years hands on experience in automotive wiring harness design and packaging of electrical/electronic components.
• Extensive experience in CATIA V5/3DX (Electrical Harness Design, Part Modelling, Surface design, 2D drawings).
• Strong knowledge of vehicle architecture, vehicle aggregates, systems and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Benchmarking and packaging studies on electrical/electronic components and defining their locations in vehicle.
• CAD experience in Wiring harness, wiring optimization studies and drawing creation.
• Independently design attachment schemes or brackets (Plastic/Sheetmetal) as an added asset.
• Communicate with overseas program stakeholders and suppliers.
• Work with Teamcenter Engineering VisMockUp and related tools.
• Collaborate effectively in small teams and as a self-starter.

• - Strong communication skill is mandatory to handle overseas Program Stake Holders Suppliers.
• - Good Knowledge in Teamcenter Engineering Vismockup.
• - Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
• - Highly committed and motivated. Should be a self-starter.
