We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wireless Network Engineer with deep expertise in Wi-Fi planning, design, deployment, and troubleshooting using Ekahau tools (Sidekick, AI Pro), and a strong background in enterprise Cisco and Aruba wireless infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-performance wireless connectivity across complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Use Ekahau AI Pro and Ekahau Sidekick to perform predictive and on-site wireless site surveys.
- Analyze RF coverage, capacity planning, channel planning, and spectrum analysis.
- Create detailed wireless network designs and heatmaps based on physical environment and user density.
- Configure and deploy wireless solutions using Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Cisco Catalyst APs, and Aruba Instant / Aruba Central-managed APs.
- Fine-tune wireless settings including SSIDs, authentication methods, roaming parameters, QoS, and RF profiles.
- Implement and support wireless security protocols (WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, 802.1X, etc.).
- Perform on-site and remote RF troubleshooting using Ekahau Sidekick and spectrum analysis tools.
- Identify and resolve issues related to interference, coverage holes, co-channel interference (CCI), and roaming performance.
- Continuously optimize wireless networks for performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Monitor network health using tools such as Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center, Aruba AirWave, or Aruba Central.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and periodic audits.
- Document network designs, configurations, and test results thoroughly.
- Work closely with network engineers, security teams, facilities, and end-users during deployment and support.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members.
- Assist in planning for capacity upgrades and future wireless initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in enterprise wireless network design and deployment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco wireless networks (Catalyst, WLCs, Meraki optional).
- Solid working knowledge of Aruba wireless infrastructure (Instant, Aruba Central, AirWave).
- Deep understanding of Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), RF fundamentals, and spectrum analysis.
- Experience with wireless authentication and security protocols (WPA2/WPA3, RADIUS, 802.1X).
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN, VLANs, switching, and firewall interactions in wireless environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
