As a Senior Wireless Systems Engineer, you will work on advanced wireless technologies supporting modern Wi-Fi platforms and embedded networking solutions. You will collaborate closely with Firmware, Driver Development, Validation, Certification, and Product Engineering teams to develop reliable and standards-compliant wireless connectivity features. The role requires deep expertise in IEEE 802.11 technologies, MAC layer protocols, RF calibration, wireless security frameworks, and packet-level troubleshooting. You will be responsible for analyzing wireless performance, resolving protocol issues, optimising system behavior, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and optimise next-generation Wi-Fi and WLAN connectivity solutions.
- Analyse and implement IEEE 802.11 wireless protocol features and enhancements.
- Develop and troubleshoot MAC layer functionality and wireless communication flows.
- Perform wireless protocol analysis, debugging, and validation activities.
- Support DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection), CAC (Channel Availability Check), and Radar Detection implementations.
- Conduct RF calibration and performance optimisation activities.
- Implement and optimise wireless coexistence mechanisms.
- Analyse wireless packet captures using Wireshark and monitor/sniffer mode tools.
- Investigate and resolve WLAN performance, reliability, interoperability, and connectivity issues.
- Support WPA2, WPA3, PMF, and advanced wireless security implementations.
- Conduct wireless security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and remediation activities.
- Troubleshoot embedded wireless systems and networking environments.
- Collaborate with Firmware, Driver, Validation, Certification, and Product teams.
- Participate in product development, testing, performance tuning, and certification efforts.
- Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and engineering reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant wireless networking experience.
- Strong expertise in IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
- In-depth understanding of MAC Layer architecture and wireless protocols.
- Hands‑on experience with DFS, CAC, and Radar Detection mechanisms.
- Strong expertise in RF calibration and wireless performance optimisation.
- Knowledge of wireless coexistence technologies and interference mitigation techniques.
- Experience performing wireless packet analysis using Wireshark and similar protocol analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of WPA2, WPA3, and Protected Management Frames (PMF).
- Experience with WLAN security vulnerability analysis and remediation.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills within embedded and networking environments.
- Ability to work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi‑Fi 6E technologies.
- Exposure to Wi‑Fi 7 standards and emerging wireless technologies.
- Embedded Linux or RTOS development experience.
