Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled Windows Server and VMware administrator in Delhi to manage ESXi hosts, Windows servers, and related infrastructure. You will troubleshoot, upgrade firmware, monitor performance, and coordinate with vendors and teams to ensure uptime.

You will apply ITIL-aligned processes, automate repetitive tasks with PowerCLI/PowerShell, and contribute to documentation and service improvements for client environments.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Windows Server administration.
• Expertise on VSphere, VMware ESXi 6.0 and later.
• Good communication and ITIL best practices awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review VMware ESXi hosts and VMs in the environment.
• Troubleshoot issues in the ESXi hosts and perform hardware troubleshooting if required.
• Engage Vendor and coordination across other teams during investigation of issues.
• Plan and Perform upgrade of firmware in VMware and hardware end like Cisco, HPE if required.
• Manage and review Windows servers in the environment.
• Perform frequent health checks on the server and troubleshoot any issues.
• Analyze System Logs (OS logs) and determine potential issues.
• Ability to predict any future failures to avoid potential outages.
• Basic knowledge on PowerCLI, PowerShell scripting to execute commands while troubleshooting.
• Expertise in working on automation and service improvements which will save manual efforts and lead to client benefits.
• Experience in performance monitoring tools.
• Creating and maintaining procedural documentation.
• Working experience on ITIL process and following agile standards.
• Has knowledge to handle requests in Incident , Change and Problem Management
• Must demonstrate and ability to work independently
• Deep understanding of VMware architecture comprising of Cluster, ESXI and VMs.
• Configuring and monitoring clusters in Vcenter for any issues.
• Experience in handling upgrade/migration activities in VMware and windows OS.
• Expertise on handling performance issues and restoring the servers.
• Capacity management of Windows Servers and Datastores in VMware environment
• Hands on experience in handling DRS in VMware
• Knowledge of DNS/IP config for ESX and VMs
• Ability to handle issues with post OS patching
• Experience in handling hardware troubleshooting in Cisco UCS, HPE Oneview and Nutanix
• Ability to perform basic command line troubleshooting for determining ESXI or Server issues
