Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a VMware and Windows Server Administrator to install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere and Windows Server environments. You will patch, upgrade, and monitor systems, ensure high availability, and coordinate with storage and network teams.

You will handle VM provisioning, backups, disaster recovery, and security hardening across multiple data centers, maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience installing physical servers and configurations pre-build and post-build.
• Practical experience administering and managing Windows platforms.
• Familiarity with firmware updates and management processes.
• Aware of patching, antivirus, vulnerability, server hardening, and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere components (ESXi, vCenter Server)
• Provision, configure, and maintain virtual machines (VMs)
• Manage clusters, resource pools, HA, DRS, and vMotion
• Monitor VMware environment performance, health, and capacity
• Troubleshoot issues related to ESXi hosts, VMs, storage, and networking
• Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to VMware components
• Plan and implement capacity management and performance tuning
• Support backup and recovery solutions (VM snapshots, VM-level backups)
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
• Maintain VMware documentation and architecture diagrams
• Coordinate with storage, network, and backup teams for virtualization-related activities
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022)
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• Perform user, group, and OU management
• Administer Windows security policies, hardening, and compliance requirements
• Patch and update Windows servers using WSUS or other patching tools
• Monitor system performance, disk usage, logs, and service health
• Troubleshoot OS-related issues, services failures, and startup problems
• Manage file servers, print services, and shared resources
• Configure and maintain RDP, firewall, and antivirus/endpoint protection
• Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations for Windows servers.

Job description

• Should have good understanding on ESXi Build, Patch, Updates and Upgrade Process
• Should have good understanding on vCenter Build, Patch, Updates and Upgrade Process
• Should have understanding on Firmware Upgrade process
• Should have understanding on Server build and decommission process
• Should have understanding on vMotion, HA, DRS and FT.
• Should have knowledge on the VCF.
• Should have knowledge on the vROP and vLoginsight.

Windows Server 2012 or Later

• Should have good understanding on installing physical server and doing all the configurations, pre-build and post build.
