Job summary

Tech Elecon (Elecon Group) is seeking a PLM/CAD support specialist to provide day-to-day Windchill and CAD software assistance. You will work with cross-functional teams to combine business requirements with software capabilities, guide users on best practices, and help develop productivity-enhancing applications.

The role requires experience with Windchill, CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD, plus familiarity with Linux/UNIX/Windows environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day PLM/CAD software support to customers and analyze issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and program reps to align requirements with capabilities.
• Guide users on PLM/CAD usage, best practices, and resolving unexpected behavior.
• Assist and lead development of productivity-enhancing apps for PLM/CAD tools.
• Interface with Windchill vendors to address escalated issues.
• Interface with developers to create customized productivity programs.
• Install, configure, customize, maintain, and upgrade Windchill products including servers.
• Troubleshoot Windchill server and client issues and manage system performance.
• Develop and document processes and user guides; log requests and resolutions.
• Ensure new users have proper Windchill installations and permissions; liaise with user groups.
• Lead and support product updates, upgrades, migrations and QA testing.
• Evaluate current and emerging PLM/CAD technologies.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• 1. Provide day-to-day PLM/CAD software applications support to individual customers by responding to technical support requests while using independent discretion and judgment in analysing and determining the probable cause of problems
• 2. Work collaboratively with internal team and external program reps to combine business requirements and software capabilities into a cohesive and optimized toolset
• 3. Provide guidance to individuals regarding PLM/CAD software applications usage and functionality, suggested techniques, best practices, and resolution to problems involving unexpected application behaviour
• 4. Assist and lead in the development of productivity-enhancing applications for use with in-place PLM/CAD software applications
• 5. Interface with PLM/CAD vendors to address escalated issues and problems
• 6. Interface with custom application developers to create and implement customized productivity-enhancing programs
• 7. Install, configure, customise, maintain, and upgrade PTC Windchill products. Provide technical support, server management, network, and database administration.
• 8. Troubleshoot Windchill technical issues including both server and CAD client-side., Manage System Performance using PTC System or other monitoring tools.
• 9. Develop and document processes and user guides. Use ticketing system to document requests, track changes, and explain resolutions.
• 10. Ensure that new users get PTC Windchill products properly installed with appropriate permissions. Liaison with the Cero / Windchill Users group, Maintain user statistics of PTC products.
• 11. Lead & support product updates, upgrades, and migrations
• 12. QA testing to support application code change, upgrades, migrations, etc.
• 13. Evaluate current and emerging technologies in the area of PLM/CAD

Preferred candidate profile

• 1. experience with PTC Windchill including both experience managing the tool and supporting the associated infrastructure.
• 2. Experience in working with engineering staff to diagnose and resolve issues. Experience with creating Windchill Products, Workflows, and Lifecycles and Cero configuration files.
• 3. Experience managing PLM or PDM systems. Familiarity with the various Windchill Modules and CAD Tools.
• 4. Excellent interpersonal skills suitable for user support and ability to work well with peer system administrators. Ability to time manage and prioritise projects.
• 5. Experience & knowledge with PLM systems (Windchill preferred) and knowledge of the following: CAD Data Management, Document Management, Change/Configuration Management, Approval Workflows, Bills of Material, Visualisations, Components Management, Supplier Management
• 6. Experience with CAD applications such as Creo, ACAD, and SolidWorks, solidage
• 7. Experience working with Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments
• 8. Demonstrated comprehensive problem solving skills; ability to find timely solutions while managing multiple tasks/priorities
