Job summary

CIEL HR seeks an experienced Welding Quality Engineer / RWC to establish and manage the welding quality system end-to-end. The role covers certifications, procedures, inspections, documentation, and quality compliance to international standards.

Key duties include acting as RWC under ISO 3834-2 / EN 1090-2, maintaining WPS/PQR/WPQR, conducting welder qualifications, and coordinating NDT activities. Strong ISO 9001 QMS involvement is expected.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• IWT or IWE certification, or pathway toward it.
• 510 years of experience in Welding Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities

• Act as Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) under ISO 3834-2 / EN 1090-2 Execution Class 3.
• Prepare, review and maintain WPS, PQR and WPQR documentation.
• Conduct and document welder qualifications as per EN ISO 9606.
• Establish incoming, in-process and outgoing inspection systems.
• Coordinate NDT activities including VT, PT, MT and UT.
• Maintain welding quality records, inspection reports and material traceability documentation.
• Drive and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
• Support ISO/EN certification activities and customer/certification audits.
• Manage Non-Conformance, CAPA and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
• Coordinate with international/global teams for quality documentation and customer requirements.
• Coach and support welders through certification and qualification requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering or related field.
• IWT (International Welding Technologist) or IWE (International Welding Engineer) certification, or a clear pathway towards certification.
• 510 years of experience in Welding Quality Assurance.
• Strong experience with EN 1090 / ISO 3834 / ASME fabrication standards.
• Strong knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQR and EN ISO 9606.
• Good understanding of NDT methods and interpretation.
• Experience in certification body and/or customer quality audits.

Preferred / Added Advantage

• CSWIP / AWS-CWI / NDT Level II certification.
• Experience in wind energy, pressure vessel or rail fabrication (EN 15085).
• Experience working according to German / European OEM specifications.
• Experience in setting up quality systems for a new manufacturing facility.
