Job summary

Isgec Heavy Engineering is seeking a Welding Manager to lead and manage welding operations for skid package manufacturing projects in Dahej, Gujarat. The role encompasses overseeing welding procedures, compliance with industry standards, and resource management to optimize safety and productivity.

In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring welding quality, supporting engineering teams, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding activities for skid fabrication, pressure piping, structural assemblies, vessels, and modular packages.
• Ensure welding activities are executed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications.
• Manage welding manpower, subcontractors, and shop-floor resources to achieve production targets.
• Monitor welding productivity and implement improvement initiatives.
• Review and approve welding procedures, weld maps, fabrication drawings, and welding sequences.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO, PED, and customer-specific requirements.
• Provide technical guidance for material selection, weldability assessments, and welding process optimization.
• Support engineering and QA/QC teams in resolving welding-related technical issues.
• Ensure weld quality meets project specifications and applicable industry standards.
• Monitor weld rejection rates and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, NDT activities, and client audits.
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement for welding quality performance.

Position Overview

The Welding Manager will lead and oversee all welding operations for skid package manufacturing projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, quality standards, productivity targets, and customer requirements. The role involves managing welding procedures, welder qualifications, fabrication activities, quality compliance, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
