National Power Engineering Company in India is seeking a Welding QA/QC Inspector to oversee welding activities in steel fabrication, ensuring conformance to WPS and drawings.

The role involves inspecting welds at all stages, coordinating NDT, recording reports, and collaborating with Production, QA/QC and Engineering to prevent defects.

Aufgaben

• Inspect welding at fit-up, root, intermediate and final welding stages.
• Check weld quality for cracks, porosity, undercut, overlap, lack of fusion and lack of penetration.
• Verify fit-up and joint preparation including root gap, alignment, bevel angle and weld dimensions.
• Ensure welding is carried out per WPS, drawings, specifications and required welding parameters.
• Inspect steel fabrication for dimensional accuracy, alignment, cutting, assembly and workmanship.
• Coordinate NDT activities such as UT, DPT/PT, MPT/MT and visual inspection, review test reports.
• Identify and report quality issues/NCRs and ensure defective welds are repaired and re-inspected.
• Maintain inspection records including welding inspection reports, fit-up reports, weld repair records and NDT reports.
• Coordinate with Production, QA/QC and Engineering teams to maintain the required quality standards and ensure defect-free steel fabrication.
