Job summary

Mabel Engineers Pvt Ltd seeks a CSWIP-certified Welding QA/QC specialist with 5+ years of welding experience in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and silos. Role focuses on WPS/PQR development and code compliance across ASME/API standards.

Candidate will organize WPQ tests, oversee QA/QC processes, interpret NDT results, and manage documentation including ITPs and test packages.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical with CSWIP certificate and minimum 5 years experience in welding of pressure vessels/hear exchangers/storage tanks/silos.
• DME with CSWIP certificate and minimum 7 years experience in welding of pressure vessels/hear exchangers/storage tanks/silos.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) per ASME IX and API standards.
• Ensure fabrication meets international codes including ASME Section VIII and API 650/620/653.
• Organize and witness Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) tests and maintain a registry of certified welders.
• Review ITPs, monitor welding activities to prevent defects, and interpret NDT results (Radiography, Ultrasonics, MPI, Liquid Penetrant).
• Select welding consumables and verify material test certificates for compliance with project specs.
• Diagnose welding-related problems and conduct failure analysis on weldments.
• Prepare QA/QC dossiers, Hydrostatic/Pneumatic Test packages, and final as-built documentation.

• Welding Procedures (WPS/PQR): Develop, qualify, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) in accordance with ASME Section IX and API standards.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all fabrication meets international codes including ASME Section VIII (Pressure Vessels), API 650/620/653 (Storage Tanks),
• Welder Qualification : Organize and witness Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) tests, maintaining a registry of certified welders.
• QA/QC Oversight : Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), monitor welding activities to prevent defects, and interpret NDT results (Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant).
• Material & Consumable Control : Select appropriate welding consumables (electrodes, filler wires) and verify material test certificates (plates, pipes) for compliance with project specifications.
• Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis : Diagnose welding-related problems (cracking, porosity, distortion) and conduct failure analysis on weldments.
• Documentation : Prepare QA/QC dossiers, Hydrostatic/Pneumatic Test packages, and final as-built documentation.
