Job summary

Sanmar Matrix Metals in Tamil Nadu seeks a skilled welding technician to ensure repair activities align with WPS, quality standards, and customer requirements. The role involves analyzing welding defects and maintaining welder qualifications, consumables control, process parameters, and heat-treatment records.

Preferred candidates come from Foundry or Valve industries, with responsibility for post-weld heat treatment cycles, baking oven upkeep, and calibration of welding and heat-treatment

Qualifications

• Experience in welding operations per approved WPS and customer requirements.
• Knowledge of welding qualifications (WPS/PQR) and records management.
• Familiarity with heat treatment cycles and material welds (e.g., C12A) is a plus.
• Preference for candidates from Foundry/Valve industries.

Responsibilities

• Ensure welding processes and machine records meet Qualifying Welders requirements and validity across grades.
• Perform post-weld heat treatment with cycle traces per assembly method of construction (MOC).
• Maintain baking/holding ovens, rectifiers, and welding equipment records.
• Issue and control welding consumables as per approved procedures.
• Prepare heat-treatment cycle records and ensure traceability.
• Maintain calibration records for welding and heat-treatment equipment; ensure proper material welding knowledge.
• Ensure correct electrode storage and consumable identification.

Job description

JOB CONTENT :

• Ensure all welding and casting repair activities are carried out as per approved WPS, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Analyze welding defects and implement corrective actions to reduce weld rejection, reworks.
• Maintain welder qualifications, welding consumable control, process parameters, and welding/repair records.

• Preferring candidates from Foundry / Valve companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Ensure welding process Qualifications and up keep of welding machines & records in line with Qualifying the Welders and ensuring the Validity of the Qualification for different grades - WPS and PQR as pe relevant standards.
• Post weld heat treatment of Body nozzle assemblies with specific heat treatment cycles according to the MOC of the assembly, comply with the procedure and traceability.
• Up-keeping of Baking & Holding Oven and Rectifiers.
• Issue and control of Welding Rods as per approved procedure.
• Preparing the record for heat treatment cycle and comply with procedure and traceability.
• Maintaining Calibration Records for Welding and heat treatment equipment & Knowledge on C12A welding and dissimilar material welding.
• Ensure correct Selection ,Identification Storage Electrode and consumbles.
