Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Welding Automation professional to develop, implement, and optimise robotic welding systems for improved productivity and quality. The role covers new product development, commissioning, and continuous improvement of welding processes.

The candidate will lead welding projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive shop-floor improvements leveraging FANUC/ABB/Panasonic systems.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production with Welding Certification.
• 8–12 years of experience in Welding Automation and Robotic Welding.
• Hands-on experience with FANUC/ABB/Panasonic robotic systems.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in robotic welding systems.
• Experience in robot programming, teaching, robotic cell design and welding process development.
• Conduct welding feasibility studies for new products covering joint design, weld accessibility, sequence and manufacturability.
• Develop and optimise welding parameters, robot paths, weld sequence and cycle time for new and existing models.
• Lead installation, commissioning, trials and production stabilisation of robotic welding lines/cells.
• Experience in weld quality verification through destructive and non-destructive testing and resolution of welding defects.
• Lead automation projects and coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Design and external automation vendors.
• Strong problem-solving, project management and continuous improvement skills with a hands-on shop-floor orientation.

Position: Welding Automation

Job Purpose

To develop, implement and optimise welding automation and robotic welding systems to improve productivity, quality and process efficiency.

To support new product development, robotic welding projects, commissioning and continuous improvement of welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in robotic welding systems, preferably FANUC, ABB, Panasonic or equivalent.


• Experience in robot programming, teaching, robotic cell design and welding process development.
