Job summary

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor's in Emergency Medical Technology or allied health sciences.
  • BLS Certification mandatory.
  • ACLS/PHTLS/ITLS preferred.
  • 0–5 years of EMS/ambulance or trauma care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and ambulance dispatches.
  • Assess patient condition and determine appropriate medical intervention.
  • Provide BLS and ALS as per protocols.
  • Perform airway management, oxygen administration, CPR, bleeding control, and trauma stabilization.
  • Assist in emergency procedures under physician direction when required.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs during transport.
  • Ensure ambulance readiness, including medical equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards in ambulances.
  • Accurately complete patient care reports and transport records.
  • Follow NABH and regulatory guidelines and report incidents promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with control room, ED staff, nurses, and physicians.
  • Provide handover reports during patient transfers.
  • Support disaster management, code blue responses, and drills.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Patient Care

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and ambulance dispatches.
  • Assess patient condition and determine appropriate medical intervention.
  • Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) as per protocols.
  • Perform airway management, oxygen administration, CPR, bleeding control, and trauma stabilization.
  • Assist in emergency procedures under physician direction when required.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs during transport.
Ambulance & Emergency Operations
  • Ensure ambulance readiness, including medical equipment and emergency supplies.
  • Conduct routine checks of monitors, defibrillators, oxygen cylinders, suction units, and other emergency equipment.
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards in ambulances.
  • Ensure safe patient transfer between locations.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Accurately complete patient care reports and transport records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Follow hospital, EMS, NABH, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Report incidents, accidents, and equipment issues promptly.
Coordination & Communication
  • Communicate effectively with ambulance control room, emergency department staff, nurses, and physicians.
  • Provide handover reports during patient transfers.
  • Participate in disaster management, code blue responses, and emergency drills.
  • Support community outreach programs and health awareness initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT), Emergency Trauma care management ,Paramedical Sciences, Emergency Care Technology, or Allied Health Sciences.
Certifications
  • BLS Certification (Mandatory)
  • ACLS Certification (Preferred)
  • PHTLS/ITLS Certification (Preferred)
Experience
  • 0-5 years of experience in EMS, Ambulance Services, Emergency Department, Trauma Care, or Critical Care Transport.
