Job summary

Vaish Industries is seeking a senior tool designer to lead a team of 8-10 tool-room technicians. You will supervise the design and development of high-speed press tools, guide manufacturing and oversee trials and troubleshooting.

The role requires expertise in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and hands-on experience with wire EDM, milling, and grinding processes, plus knowledge of tool steels and die components. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Lead a team of 8-10 tool-room technicians/toolmakers.

Responsibilities

• High-speed progressive press tool design & development.
• Multislide / multi-forming tooling experience strongly preferred.
• Tool design using SolidWorks.
• Mastercam knowledge for machining/tool development.
• Complete understanding of tool manufacturing, assembly, trials and troubleshooting.
• Strong practical knowledge of Wire EDM, milling, surface grinding, lathe and other tool-room machines.
• Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, clearances, punches, dies, inserts, guides, springs, sensors, etc.
• Ability to diagnose issues such as tool breakage, burr, dimensional variation, feeding problems, misalignment and premature tool wear.
• Ability to take a component from drawing strip/layout concept tool design machining assembly press trial correction production approval.
