Job summary

Satav Stone Company is seeking a procurement professional in India to plan and manage the purchase of raw materials, components, packaging, and services. You will identify reliable suppliers, negotiate terms, and oversee purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.

The role requires strong supplier evaluation, cost-saving initiatives, and coordination with Stores, Production, Planning, and Finance to maintain inventory and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and manage procurement of materials, components, and services.
• Experience identifying and developing reliable suppliers and alternate sources.
• Strong negotiation skills for price, payment terms, delivery, quality and terms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage procurement of raw materials, components, consumables, packaging materials, engineering items, and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and alternate sources.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, quality requirements, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Prepare, review and approve purchase orders as per company procedures.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Ensure timely follow-up of purchase orders to prevent shortages or interruptions.
• Develop cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives.
• Analyze market trends, material prices, and supplier capabilities to support purchasing decisions.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels in coordination with Stores, Production, Planning, and Finance.
• Develop alternate suppliers to minimize risks and single-source dependency.
• Handle supplier negotiations, disputes, shortages, rejections, and delivery delays.
