Product Development & Dryer Development Engineers

Job Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5 to 10 years (role-specific experience criteria apply)

Role & Responsibilities

ELGi Equipments Ltd. is looking for talented engineering professionals to join its Product Excellence & Innovation (PE&I) team, contributing to the design, development and continuous improvement of compressor products and compressed air dryers.

1. Product Development Compressor Products

• Design and develop mechanical components, subsystems and compressor packages as per project requirements and the ELGi Product Development Process (EPDP).
• Prepare concepts, 3D models, engineering drawings and specifications using CAD tools.
• Coordinate design validation, simulation, prototype manufacturing and product testing.
• Support manufacturing feasibility, supplier coordination, engineering changes and cost optimisation.
• Apply design best practices, DFM/DFA/DFS principles and relevant engineering standards.

2. Dryer Development Refrigerant Dryers

• Design and develop compressed air refrigerant dryer products.
• Work on refrigeration system components, including refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, refrigerant controls and line sizing.
• Coordinate product testing, design validation, manufacturing feasibility and engineering changes.
• Drive product reliability, design improvements and material cost optimisation.

3. Dryer Development Desiccant Dryers

• Design and develop desiccant dryers for compressed air applications.
• Work with desiccants, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fans, valves and controllers.
• Coordinate product testing, validation, manufacturing feasibility and engineering changes.
• Support product reliability, cost optimisation and compliance with applicable standards.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 510 years of relevant experience in product design and development or desiccant dryer development or refrigerant dryer development.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical design, component/subsystem development or compressed air dryer development, relevant to the position.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, design validation, testing and manufacturing requirements.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, analytical skills and a focus on product quality, reliability and cost optimisation.
• M.Tech in Thermal Engineering or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is preferred for relevant dryer development roles.
