Job summary

ELGi Equipments Limited in India is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for new product development. You will create schematic diagrams using E-Plan and E-CAD, design wiring, panels, and control layouts, and prepare BOMs.

You will also support engineering changes, optimize designs for manufacturability and cost, and ensure on-time delivery with thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (full-time).
• Proficiency in design tools such as E‑Plan & E‑CAD.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in designing electrical systems, parts, and components.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system design for new products; create schematics, wiring layouts, and control panel designs.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials and associated documentation.
• Support design changes, resolve issues, and optimize designs for manufacturability and cost.
• Ensure adherence to timelines, processes, and quality targets with proper documentation.

Job Description

• Responsible for development of electrical system design for new product development. Develop schematic diagrams using various tools for electrical wiring, panel and control console layouts, and generate associated bill of materials.
• Provide support in design activities related to engineering changes in existing products and resolution of design issues, complaints, and queries. Simplify product designs for improved manufacturability and reduce cost without compromising product quality and function.
• Provide support for identification and procurement of electrical systems as per non‑standards and business requirements.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, development processes, and cost and quality targets. Responsible for comprehensive documentation including detailed engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, schematics, manuals, and production test plans.
