Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Coder for outpatient coding across all specialties in Hyderabad. You will review documentation, assign ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes with modifiers, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and client SOPs.

Ideal candidates have AAPC/AHIMA certification and 1–7 years outpatient coding experience, with strong knowledge of coding systems and good communication skills to work independently.

Qualifications

• Active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P).
• 1–7 years of hands-on outpatient coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and medical terminology.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with SOPs and coding guidelines.

Requirements

• Active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA, such as CPC, COC, CCS or CCS-P
• Hands-on outpatient coding experience of 1- 7 years in one or more specialties
• Working knowledge of specialty-specific coding, along with a good understanding of SOPs and coding guidelines
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
• Consistent track record of good coding quality and accuracy
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently

Good to Have

• Experience in more than one outpatient specialty
• Experience with EHR and encoder tools, including but not limited to Epic, Athena, Cerner and Meditech
