Job summary

Punjab Jewels in India is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead recruitment across showroom and corporate functions, manage onboarding, and ensure compliance with labour laws.

You will oversee payroll coordination, performance management, employee relations, and HR reporting across multiple locations, partnering with department heads to align staffing with business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment across showroom and corporate functions.
  • Work with department heads to understand manpower requirements and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Prepare accurate job descriptions and manage job postings across relevant recruitment platforms.
  • Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, conduct HR assessments, and manage the selection process.
  • Maintain recruitment records and track open positions, hiring timelines, joining status, and recruitment effectiveness.
  • Manage the complete joining and onboarding process for new employees.
  • Ensure all joining forms, KYC documents, employment records, agreements, and other required documentation are properly completed and maintained.
  • Conduct structured induction and orientation for new employees.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure proper role handover, training, and integration of new employees.
  • Maintain complete and accurate employee files throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage the day-to-day functioning of the HR department across all locations.
  • Monitor attendance, leaves, weekly offs, late arrivals, shifts, and other workforce-related matters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updating of employee information in the HRMS.
  • Maintain HR records, letters, documentation, approvals, and employee correspondence.
  • Ensure HR processes and policies are consistently followed across all showrooms and departments.
  • Coordinate and verify monthly payroll inputs including attendance, leaves, incentives, deductions, new joiners, and exits.
  • Ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted within defined timelines.
  • Maintain employee benefit records.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts team for salary processing and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and manage structured performance appraisal and review processes.
  • Work with management and department heads to establish role-specific KRAs and KPIs.
  • Track employee performance and ensure periodic reviews and feedback are conducted.
  • Identify performance gaps and coordinate appropriate improvement plans where required.
  • Support management in building a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Act as an effective bridge between management and employees.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, workplace issues, and disciplinary matters professionally and promptly.
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition, motivation, and retention initiatives.
  • Foster a professional and positive working environment aligned with Punjab Jewels' culture and values.
  • Monitor employee turnover and identify opportunities to improve retention.
  • Identify training and development requirements across different roles and departments.
  • Coordinate training programs covering customer service, product knowledge, selling skills, grooming, behavioural skills, policies, and compliance as required.
  • Work with department heads and external trainers to ensure effective delivery of training programs.
  • Track training participation and effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and periodically review HR policies, processes, and SOPs.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, grooming standards, attendance requirements, code of conduct, and workplace discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory HR requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for disciplinary actions, warnings, employee grievances, resignations, terminations, and other employment matters.
  • Coordinate with consultants and relevant departments for statutory HR compliance wherever required.
  • Manage employee resignations, separations, and exit formalities.
  • Ensure proper handover and completion of clearance requirements before employee release.
  • Conduct exit interviews and maintain appropriate separation documentation.
  • Coordinate accurate and timely Full & Final settlement inputs with the Accounts team.
  • Track reasons for employee exits and provide management with insights on attrition.
  • Coordinate with external security and housekeeping agencies for manpower deployment across company locations.
  • Monitor manpower availability, attendance, replacements, service quality, and adherence to agreed requirements.
  • Escalate and resolve manpower or service-related issues with agency representatives.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal teams to ensure agency personnel meet company standards.
  • Prepare regular HR reports and dashboards for management.
  • Track key HR metrics including headcount, vacancies, recruitment status, attrition, attendance, absenteeism, employee turnover, and manpower costs.
  • Provide management with accurate HR data and insights for decision-making.
  • Identify gaps in existing HR processes and recommend practical improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Experience in retail, jewellery, luxury retail, hospitality, or another multi-location business will be preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in recruitment, HR operations, employee relations, payroll coordination, performance management, and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory HR requirements.
  • Experience working with HRMS platforms; familiarity with Keka will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage multiple HR priorities simultaneously.
