Job summary

Orchids The International School is seeking a Robotics Teacher to inspire students with hands-on robotics, coding, automation, and STEM learning. The role focuses on designing engaging lessons that foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through building and programming robotic systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, coding, and related technologies, with a passion for hands-on education and classroom safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, CS, Electronics, ME, IT or related field.
• B.Ed. is preferred for school teaching roles.
• Certification or hands-on experience in robotics, coding, Arduino, LEGO Education, VEX Robotics, AI or STEM education is an added advantage.
• Prior experience teaching robotics, coding, or STEM subjects in schools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive robotics and STEM lessons aligned with curriculum.
• Teach fundamentals of robotics, coding, electronics, automation and engineering concepts.
• Guide students in designing, programming, and testing robotic models with age-appropriate kits and software.
• Introduce programming concepts using Scratch, Blockly, Python, Arduino or similar platforms.
• Encourage project-based learning, coding challenges, and robotics competitions.
• Assess student performance through projects and activities.
• Maintain robotics lab equipment and ensure safety and organization.
• Integrate technology to enhance classroom engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers and leadership to run STEM events and workshops.
• Participate in parent meetings and staff trainings.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking by delivering engaging lessons and guiding students in designing, building, and programming robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive robotics and STEM lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
• Teach students the fundamentals of robotics, coding, electronics, automation, and engineering concepts.
• Guide students in designing, assembling, programming, and testing robotic models using age-appropriate robotics kits and software.
• Introduce programming concepts using platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, Python, Arduino, or other relevant technologies.
• Encourage innovation through project-based learning, coding challenges, and robotics competitions.
• Assess student performance through practical assignments, projects, and classroom activities.
• Maintain robotics lab equipment, tools, and learning resources in a safe and organized manner.
• Integrate technology and digital learning tools to enhance classroom engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to organize STEM events, exhibitions, workshops, and competitions.
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings, faculty training sessions, and other school activities.
