Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or a related discipline.
• Strong SQL skills with joins, subqueries, aggregates, CTEs, and window functions.
• Hands-on programming in Python to develop and debug automated database tests.
• Experience with Java or equivalent language is an added advantage.
• Experience with at least one automation framework (pytest, JUnit, TestNG) including parameterized tests, setup/cleanup, and reporting.
• Practical experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and database connectivity using drivers.
• Experience in database automation testing on cloud data platforms (Snowflake/Databricks) is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of database schemas, keys, constraints, relationships, transactions, and stored logic.
• Experience validating data quality, business rules, and source-to-target mappings, including field-level reconciliation and precision.
• Ability to design repeatable, independent tests using controlled datasets and clear expected results.
• Experience using Git and integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools.
• Understanding of secure test configuration and using masked/synthetic test data.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and defect tracking with Jira/Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and clear communication with stakeholders.
• Experience with ETL automation, data warehouse testing, data migration validation, or cloud data platforms.
• Knowledge of finance, investments, or capital markets.

Job description

Hands-on programming experience in Python is a must-have skill, with the ability to develop and debug automated database tests.
